Supply chain optimisation to improve competitiveness and profitability for a sofa manufacturer experiencing all the issues that impact resources arising from full in-house production e.g. space, waste/wastage, time and management costs.

The project involved analysis of the production process and costs structure and subsequent out-sourcing of certain operations to reduce staffing levels and materials handling requirements and redesigned production tracking and logistics.

Results included cost savings associated with reduced production management requirement and warehousing rationalisation due to streamlining the supply chain, with subsequent improvement in competitiveness.
