Filippo Taddei teaches international finance and macroeconomics at SAIS Johns Hopkins University where he directs the Bologna Institute for Policy and Research (BIPR) and the Master of Arts course in Global Risk (MAGR). He earned his PhD in Economics with distinction from Columbia University and his Laurea cum laude from the University of Bologna

Dr. Taddei's academic research focuses on macroeconomics, international finance and the relationship between the labour market and the pension system

From 2013 to 2017, he served as Economic and Labour Affairs Spokesperson of the ruling Italian Democratic Party, reporting directly to the Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi. In this role, he was one of the main architects of the Italian labour market reform of 2015.

In the past Taddei was Research Fellow of the Collegio Carlo Alberto, he received the Lamfalussy Fellowship from the European Central Bank and the Young Economist Award from the European Economic Association. He has been a consultant for various multinational companies, the World Bank and the European Commission.
